KIEV, June 7 (Xinhua) -- A Ukrainian court on Friday adjourned for the 19th time the trial of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who refused to show up at the court due to poor health.

Judge Kostyantin Sadovsky set a new date of July 5.

Tymoshenko, who now is receiving medical treatment in Kharkov hospital, has been charged with embezzling an estimated 405 million U.S. dollars and evading tax worth more than 87,000 dollars in the 1990s, when she was president of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine.

She was sentenced to seven years in prison in October 2011 after being convicted of abusing power in a natural gas deal with Russia in 2009, and has been in jail since August 2011.

Tymoshenko has insisted that her prosecution was politically motivated and that her detention was unlawful.
