Email|Print

Statistics released by the business channel of China Central Television indicate that daily average of leisure time in China is 2.55 hours, less than half of that in developed countries.

Studies show that almost a quarter of Chinese enjoy less than an hour of leisure time (excluding working and sleeping), 22 per cent have 1~2 hours, and one in twelve have no leisure time at all.

Statistics demonstrate that although Chinese daily leisure time increased to 2.55 hours in 2014 compared with 2.19 hours three years ago, it remains less than half of that in developed countries.

The report also indicate that e-commerce, health care and the finance industry are the three major fields favored by people who want to set up their own business - making up 20 per cent, 19 per cent and 14 per cent respectively - followed by logistics and real estate. Manufacturing industry ranks last, accounting for only 2.5 per cent.

The residents' income confidence index stands at 67.6 per cent, the lowest point for four years. But this is still higher than the "risk region". Confidence is higher in rural areas than in urban areas.
