BEIJING, June 17 -- The Central Military Commission (CMC) has issued a circular pledging to continue fighting corruption in the People's Liberation Army (PLA), after it initiated prosecutions of two more senior officers.

The CMC announced on Tuesday that Kou Tie, former head of the Heilongjiang Military Area Command, and Liu Zhanqi, former chief of the People's Armed Police traffic command, have been put under military prosecution.

This brought the number of corrupt military officers busted by army discipline inspectors in China's ongoing anti-corruption campaign to 37.

The PLA has ordered that all malpractice uncovered by its audit office be transferred to military law enforcers.

It is also looking into overuse of secretaries and office attendants by officers and the living standards of officers and their families, moves designed to show that all military personnel, no matter their rank, must follow the rules.
