BEIJING, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said Thursday that 42.2 percent of autumn grains had been reaped across China.

With regions like central China's Henan Province hastening harvests amid agreeable weather conditions, this year's autumn harvest is up to speed with that of the same time last year, said the ministry.

Over half of the middle-season rice, over 40 percent of corn, and around 40 percent of soybeans have been reaped so far, according to the ministry.

China has taken multi-pronged measures to ensure a bumper autumn harvest. The Ministry of Finance allocated 2.4 billion yuan (about 334 million U.S. dollars) worth of subsidies in August for fertilizers, pesticides and other agricultural sprays to improve the yields of autumn grains.

China aims to stabilize its annual grain output at over 650 billion kg, according to the country's 2023 government work report.
