The 12th "Chinese Bridge" fluency competition has drawn to a close in Germany, where fifteen college students have battled it out in Chinese. |
"I hope to present a good image of Germany in China when I attend the final. At the same time, I want to improve my Chinese skills. I really want to win the top prize." First Prize Winner said.
When the contestants give speeches, many talk about their experiences learning Chinese and living in China. Some show that they’re well-versed in the culture, by performing cross-talk, Tai-chi, or singing Chinese songs. "Chinese Bridge" is organized by Hanban, the Chinese headquarters of the Confucius Institute. For more than a decade, it has been a platform for foreign students to showcase their proficiency in Chinese, and their love for Chinese culture.
