Thousands of students have been leaving the city for overseas summer camp or educational trips during the summer vacation, the Shanghai Exit-Entrance Administration Bureau said yesterday.
A total of 18,400 primary and middle school students flew to other countries and to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan between July 1 and 7 from Pudong International Airport. Nearly 6,000 flew to the United States, the bureau said.
