Changsha (CNS) -- Since the first day of Lunar New Year, nearly 10,000 people have entered China's famous Yueyang Tower free-of-charge by reciting the masterpiece "Yueyang Lou Ji", according to the park's management on Tuesday.
The scenic spot, located in Yueyang, Hunan province, launched the promotional campaign to attract more tourists during the golden week. Visitors who can recite the entire masterpiece within 10 minutes are given free admission.
"We hope to emphasize the cultural atmosphere of the scenic spot through this kind of campaign," said Huang Erliang, director of the park's administrative committee.
Yueyang Tower is famous partly for its literary associations, namely the piece "Yueyang Lou Ji," or "Memorial to Yueyang Tower." It was written by renowned poet Fan Zhongyan during the Song Dynasty.
Along with the Tengwang Pavilion and the Yellow Crane Tower, Yueyang Tower is one of the "Three Great Towers" of China.
