A man has been arrested for strangling his pregnant wife to death and dismembering her body in Shaanxi Province, police said.
The 28-year-old man surnamed Yang suspected his new bride, surnamed Hao, was having an affair.
On March 4, Hao, who was five months pregnant at the time, rejected his amorous advances, China Business View newspaper reported today. Yang, who had been drinking that night, became very irritated and strangled his wife to death, the report said. He chopped up her body in the restroom, packed the parts in 12 plastic bags and buried them outside the village in Huayin City, the paper reported, citing police.
Yang was captured four days later and admitted his crimes, according to the report, which added DNA tests proved Yang was the father of the unborn child.
Yang was convicted of robbery in 2002 and sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was released in 2011 and married Hao in 2012, the report said.
